Dad Vails

Here are my photos from the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend... it is the "small-school" national championships - unofficially, because crew is not an NCAA sport for men - but 118 schools from across the country showed up to row. and it was fun. I rowed this weekend - see below for results - so I didn't get to take as many pictures.

also, side note, exams start this week but pictures to come on this blog should include posts from Memphica, also Baton Rouge, LA and Vicksburg, MS... who knows what'll show up this summer, but this is it for rowing! see below.

This was Saturday afternoon/evening, as we waited for the 1V's grand final, the sun broke through the clouds. You can make out what's infamously known as "the island" in the left middleground. picture is taken from about the 700 m to go mark.

WE WON BRONZE!

for reference, this is the best that Army Crew has ever done - the last and only other time Army won any medals at Dad Vails was also a bronze for the 2V, but they were 11 seconds back from 1st and we were only 4.92 seconds back. we have therefore decided that this is the best we've ever done. so, in the words of Mike Meyer - TATONKA and Booyakasha.
